Board Test

Board Test can be used to check for proper function of all buttons, encoders and the Touchscreen on any Magic Q hardware

Board Test Can Be Found in the Magic Q software on consoles and on PC in Setup>View System>View Wings>Board Test

On PC or Mac:

  •  go to Setup>View System>View Wings
  • Choose Board Test from the top soft buttons
  • press and release each button on your wing one at a time and watch for the corresponding box to turn green showing proper behavior of the button
  • run each fader up and down slowly from 0-100% one at a time confirm the corresponding box turns green
  • you can choose LED Test 1 or LED Test 2 to check the LED button lights
  • to exit board test use the mouse to press the "Close" soft button on the top right

MQ 100, 200, 300 Consoles"

  • Hold Both of the yellow shift buttons on either side of the top of the touch screen to enter board test
  • press and release each button on your console one at a time and watch for the corresponding box to turn green showing proper behavior of the button
  • run each fader up and down slowly from 0-100% one at a time confirm the corresponding box turns green
  • turn each encoder slowly with a constant speed to the left to see the box turn grey, then slowly at a constant speed to the right to see the corresponding box turn green (Note: it is normal for the numbers in the command line for the encoders to have some fluctuation, if the box turns grey then green the encoder is working properly)
  • touch the touch screen and drag your finger around to see X,Y, coordinates to check touch screen functionality 
  • To test LEDs, enter button test mode and then press CTRL 1 and CTRL 2 to test the different color LEDs. Press CTRL 0 to go back to normal state of the LEDs
  • to exit Board Test press both yellow shift buttons at the top by the touch screen again


MQ500 & Compact series Consoles:

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift to enter Board Test
  • press and release each button on your console one at a time and watch for the corresponding box to turn green showing proper behavior of the button
  • run each fader up and down slowly from 0-100% one at a time confirm the corresponding box turns green
  • turn each encoder slowly with a constant speed to the left to see the box turn grey, then slowly at a constant speed to the right to see the corresponding box turn green (Note: it is normal for the numbers in the command line for the encoders to have some fluctuation, if the box turns grey then green the encoder is working properly)
  • touch the touch screen and drag your finger around to see X,Y, coordinates to check touch screen functionality

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift again to exit board test
