Enttec Pro USB on MAC OSX

The options to use 3rd party interfaces have now been removed from our software.

ChamSys are unable to offer support for these interfaces.

We recommend our plug & play MagicDMX Interfaces. This article below is now out of date but we are leaving it for information purposes

Setting up Enttec DMX USB Pro FOR MAC OSX

Go to Enttec Site and Download Pro-Manager from Enttec Site  (https://www.enttec.com/us/products/controls/dmx-usb/pro-manager/)

Once downloaded Install Pro-Manager

-if it does not download because of security preferences than go to:
     -System Preferences
     -Security and Privacy
Under the General Tab on the bottom where it says ‘Apps allowed from:’ click on OPEN ANYWAY
That will allow an exception for that program and allow it to be installed
To Prepare the Chamsys software to see the dongle you have to configure the DMX I/O to see the appropriate type of hardware.
To do this go to: Setting—>View DMX I/O
-under the field OUT TYPE double click the box and navigate to Enttec Pro/Lumen Radio and click on that choice.
you should also go to:
Setup—>View Settings—>Ports
double click on 'MagicQ Wings and Interfaces' and choose FTDI+VCP, Auto DMX
Once completed refer to Enttec quick start manual and run the Pro Manager (current version is 2.34.2) to confirm connection is made.
Plug the Enttec Pro USB into your computer and The Enttec Box will blink green once to signify it is powered up and ready. After one blink it will stay off until it receives DMX or there is another issue.
Back in the Enttec Pro Manager press the ‘Find Devices’ button on the top left and a dropdown menu should show the device listed. In this example it is the DMX USB PRO
Once the USB PRO dongle sees DMX it should have a green light blinking which signifies DMX is being Received or Transmitted.
If the green light is staying on continuously it signifies an Error and the DMX USB Pro needs to be reset
If the green light stays off always it means it is Normal Mode and is waiting for software to instruct it to preform DMX operation
Once the device has been found you can confirm the DMX USB PRO is working by using the Enttec Pro Manager.
Click on DMX Send go down to Source (green) and select a source such as ’Test Patterns' and make sure the Output (yellow) is Enabled.
Now the green light on the DMX USB Pro should be blinking to confirm transmission of DMX.
